Who am I & How / why I am sometimes forced to act insanely

Here is that verse which you are searching for........

In the Vedic literature (Katha upanishad 1.3.3–4)
it is said:

The individual is the passenger in the car of the material body, and
intelligence is the driver. Mind is the driving instrument, and the senses are
the horses. The self is thus the enjoyer or sufferer in the association of the
mind and senses. So it is understood by great thinkers.”

This verse has been summarised in Bhagvad gita as below verse

BG 6.34: For the mind is restless, turbulent, obstinate and very strong, OKṛṣṇa, and to subdue it, I think, is more difficult than controlling the wind.

BG 6.35: Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa said: O mighty-armed son of Kuntī, it is undoubtedly very difficult to curb the restless mind, but it is possible by suitable practice and by detachment.

BG 6.36:  For one whose mind is unbridled, self-realization is difficult work.  But he whose mind is controlled and who strives by appropriate means is  assured of success. That is My opinion.

here's my answer for the knowing the mechanism:
Also answers the question : Every person has two sides, The ONE and The OTHER.one is the prime part of us ,other is evil.but why do we feel happy when we do evil practices influenced by OTHER? Why not we listen only to the ONE?

Think - Eat - Save : Simple Tips on the eve of World Environment Day

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated globally towards creating positive environmental actions, involving people from all walks of life to come together to ensure a cleaner, greener and brighter outlook for themselves and for the future generations. WED is celebrated every year on June 5.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is Think. Eat. Save, an anti-food waste and food loss campaign. The campaign aims to encourage reduce food wastage.

According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), every year 1.3 billion tonnes of food is getting wasted. The vast amount of food going to the landfills amount to a major squandering of resources, including water, land, energy, labour, capital. In addition, it needlessly produces greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to global warming and climate changes. It is also estimated that 1 out of every 7 people in the world go to bed hungry and more than 20,000 children under the age of 5 die daily from hunger!

This World Environment Day, team members are invited to join the cause to prevent food wastage. In our everyday lives, we too are wasting food in some way or the other either at our homes, at restaurants or in the office cafeterias.  It is estimated that over 250 kgs of food is getting wasted  in our cafeterias daily because team members take extra food but do not consume it!

Here are a few simple tips that could help reduce food wastage at our homes, at restaurants or in the office cafeterias:
·         When at home, look in your kitchen cupboards, fridge and freezer. A lot of food wastage can be reduced by knowing what provisions you already have and need to be used up before you shop next for the provisions

·         Where and how we store the provisions we buy makes a big difference to how long they last and how much gets wasted. Use the provisions with the closest expiry date for cooking first and store safely the others that can be used later

·         While serving food and eating, either breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner, be it at home, at a restaurant or in the office, please ensure that you take only what you can eat and do not waste food. Take only what is needed and never over-fill your plates resulting in wastage.
O
Often people throw food, if they dont taste nice. Instead think once about the people who are starving days long for getting few bread crumbs or a glass of water. If we care enough then for sure the day will come when there wont be scarcity for either food or for water.

·         You could look for local organizations that collect prepared food from homes, restaurants, caterers and corporate cafeterias and promptly distribute to the hungry people in the communities.

Any other ideas are heartily invited via comments.

Let us feed the hungry, not the landfills.

Together we can make a big difference to help our society to prosper

On this Auspicious occasion of Holi, I got the opportunity to contribute back to society in terms of FOOD for promoting EDUCATION, with the hope for making India prosperous by eradicating hunger & malnutrition.

Though this small amount is very insignificant, if everyone of us decided to help then, these little drops could become an ocean soon & we can see the drastic progress very soon.

Thanks to Dell for giving us a platform for making donation to a genuine organisation (AkshayaPatra.org).

It also accepts direct online donations for feeding poor school going children, i.e. Enabling Hunger free Education for nearly 1.3 million Children in India.

If anyone is interested to help in similar fashion or need any further information, please contact me without any hesitation. Together we can make a big difference...

We are like teabags.

We are like teabags whose true strength comes out when put in hot water.

When problem approaches, just check your behavior... Be cautious & get the control back again, if its getting bitter. Our problems could be solved in the best way, by just being in our perfect temper, but not getting agitated...        Jai Shree Krishna :)

Real Success Formula

This is the ultimate formula for success in every aspect of life...
Jai Shree Krishna

I wish u all a quick & strong independence day... Approaching fast :)

Lets support Anna Hazare's Mission...
Its another revolution for getting freedom against corruption !!!

I wish u all a quick & strong independence day... Approaching fast :)

‎10 things to know about Anna Hazare 'n Jan Lok Pal Bill.. !

1. Who is Anna Hazare?

An ex-army man. Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War

2. What's so special about him?

He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra

3. So what?

This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills.

In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4. Ok,...?

This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.

5. Really, what is he fighting for?

He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India.

6. How that can be possible?

He is advocating for a Bil, The Jan Lokpal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), beurocrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

8. It's an entirely new thing right..?

In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit thier theft (corruption).

7. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?

The first thing he is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.

Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the JAN LOKPAL BILL. 50% goverment participation and 50% public participation. Because you cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

8. Fine, What will happen when this bill is passed?

A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished. Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

9. Is he alone? Whoelse is there in the fight with Anna Hazare?

Baba Ramdev, Ex. IPS Kiran Bedi, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more.

Prominent personalities like Aamir Khan is supporting his cause.

10. Ok, got it. What can I do?

At least we can spread the message. How?

Putting status message, links, video, changing profile pics.

At least we can support Anna Hazare and the cause for uprooting corruption from India.

At least we can hope that his Hunger Strike does not go in vain.

At least we can pray for his good health.

Thanks for reading.
Please Spread This msg As Much As You Can 'n Tell Others To Do The Same.. !

Unflinching Faith, thats what we need to possess !!!

A flight was flying through the clouds. Suddenly, it lost the balance & started shaking.
Everyone started shouting in fear, expect a boy, who was busy with his toys & has ignored the  turbulence & turmoil around them. After an hour the flight landed safely.

A man asked the young boy, "How could you ignore the fearful disturbed crowd & kept busy with your play"? The boy smiled & replied, My dad is pilot. I knew he will land me safely. This is called the unflinching faith.

On the same note, I would like to request all to keep the faith intact on our maintainer (Lord), be whatever miserable be the situations. The bottom line is, it has to end, landing us in a smooth part of life. As the boy was keep playing with his toys, we should just keep doing our duty without any complain or crying. Keep the faith intact with everyday prayers & you will see that, Lord Krishna will listen & bless us to come out of any difficulties in life!!!

In Bhagavat Gita (2.14) Krishna says:

O son of Kuntī, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

Jai Shree Krishna :-)
Wish you a happy & blissful Saraswati Puja !!!

Are you still following ur new year Resolutions???

Most of us have defined some new year resolutions. Its just 10 days now & I think very few of us are still able to follow them religiously !!!
Some gave up due to lack of motivation & others because of scarcity of vision.

Ever given a thought, why its happening??? & how can we keep it intact???

Often we set our Goals, but forget to formulate a strict  guidelines to it. (Kind of routine (steps that we need to carry out daily to accomplish the final result).
On the other hand sometime we define some routine to follow, with out any time bound Goal attached to it.

How many of us have written the resolutions in a paper & periodically review them???

You must visualize the end result daily, as if you have achieved it. That vision will give you a lot of motivation to keep moving :-).

In both the case, the chances of successful continuation of process & achievement of substantial result is very less. Upon failure, we tend to say some vague  words like, "Rules or Resolutions are meant to broken or its really difficult to follow / stick to any routine till the Goal is achieved".

Its never late to start. Lets re-frame our resolution with proper procedure &  periodically examine whether we are heading towards the right direction or not...

Success is guaranteed for the disciplined persons,  who formulates it SMARTLY !!!

All the best to me & to all, who want to regularize the process yet again.
Self satisfaction will follow, when we see things moving in the right direction & we are achieving something on daily basis (regardless of the size of achievement ) :-).

Any further ideas are welcome..........................
JSK.

Here comes another Relationship Booster !!!

Everyone seek their relationship with the beloved ones to flourish exponentially, but very few people could really accomplish the same. Here goes some of the proven techniques that one can inculcate in to his/her habit to get best out from his/her own life.

Hope u like this article & can be benefited in ur own life by the practical use of it.
Thanks to Brian Tracy for his amazing teachings on every aspect of life :-).

How to Charm Anyone

Psychologists tell us that the core of personality is self-esteem. This has best been defined as "how much you like yourself." Your self-esteem is the sum total of how important and valuable you feel you are at any moment.

The Secret of Charm
The deepest craving of human nature is the need to feel valued and valuable. The secret of charm is therefore simple: make others feel important.

Five Ways to be Charming

  1. Acceptance. The greatest gift you can give other people is the attitude of "unconditional positive regard." That is you accept them in their entirety, without limitation. You never criticize or find fault. You are totally accepting of everything about them. This is the starting point of being charming.
  2. Appreciation. Whenever you express appreciation to others for something they have done, small or large, their self-esteem increases. They feel more competent and capable. Their self-image improves and their self-respect soars. And how do you trigger this wonderful feeling in others? It is simple. You say "thank you" on every occasion, for any large or small reason.
  3. Approval. It is said that "babies cry for it, men die for it." Throughout life, all humans have a deep subconscious need for approval of their actions and accomplishments. No amount of approval ever satisfies for long. The need is ongoing, like the need for food and rest. People who continually seek opportunities to express approval are welcome wherever they go. Perhaps the best definition of approval is "praise." Just remember, whenever you praise other people for something they have done, their self-esteem is elevated.
  4. Admiration. As Abraham Lincoln said, "Everybody likes a compliment." When you give people a genuine, sincere compliment about a trait, possession, or accomplishment, they automatically feel better about themselves. They feel acknowledged and recognized. They feel valuable and important. They like themselves more, and they like you more. Compliment a person on an article of clothing. Compliment someone on a trait, like punctuality or persistence. Compliment for small things as well as large.
  5. Attention. This is perhaps the most important quality of all. It is the most powerful behavior for building self-esteem and is the key to instant charm. The more closely you pay attention to other people, the more valuable and important they will feel they are, and the more they will like you.
Action Exercise
The next time you meet your significant other or even someone you work with, conduct this exercise: Imagine that when you were young, you had a dear friend with whom you shared many important emotional experiences of your young life. But years passed and you lost touch. You had no idea where your friend had gone. One day, when you are walking down the street suddenly there he is! Your whole face lights up and all you can think is, "It's you!"

Now, the next time you meet a person or persons who are important to you, especially loved ones or dear friends, create this same feeling and act as if you are rediscovering them after a too-long absence. Treat these special people as if seeing them makes you feel incredibly happy. No matter who they are, they will think that you are an incredibly charming person.

Remember to Acknowledge, before being Acknowledged !!!

You can acknowledge others in many ways. When someone calls you, acknowledge the call. When they send you something, remember to say thank you. When someone does a good job, say so. When they apologize, acknowledge that too. & so on...

It’s especially important to acknowledge acts of kindness – doing so reinforces the act and encourages more of the same. We all benefit.

Almost everyone loves to be acknowledged. We love to have our phone calls returned, to be told we are doing a great job, to be thanked for working so hard, to have our creativity appreciated.

People remember acknowledgment and they appreciate it. When you need a favor, or advice, the fact that you have previously taken the time to acknowledge someone often comes back to help you. It makes others want to help you and to see you succeed.

Also, people who have been acknowledged genuinely and with love are very forgiving. They will see beyond your mistakes and failures and forgive you freely. Needless to say, all of this makes your life easier and far less stressful.

I ve personally following this for quite a long time & observing its miraculous potential. Just one precaution we ve to take, that is, we need to do it genuinely; not just for fake boasting, else it might work in the negative direction.

Everyone wants to be acknowledged, but very few take time to think & pass the acknowledgement to others. But Life has its own rule, as we sow, so shall we reap :-).
Life is just a reflection, lets be aware & act accordingly :-)

Jai Shree Krishna :-)
Keep smiling, Bikash :-)

All about the power of Mantras & their affect on our life, The scientific aspect !!!

NB: If you got afraid by seeing the length of the topic & rejecting to go through this, in detail, you will miss a marvelous opportunity to make your life ever blissful with full of happiness, contentment & eternal peace.

So I request you to go through this thoroughly, might not take more than 10 mins of your precious time.

EVERY matter - from the tiniest DNA strand in us to the largest of continents - is in a state of constant vibration resulting in the emission of subtle sounds.

The great teachers of ancient times had the power to listen to the subtlest of these sounds. They discovered that specific sounds energized specific portions of the brain thereby awakening extraordinary powers (Siddhis). They used these sounds to form sacred words that are called Mantras.

Mantras have a profound impact upon us due to two reasons:
- The vibration effect of the sound; and
- The effect of the collective emotional energy behind that word due to constant repetition over time.

Benefits of Mantras

Mantras act upon our bodies by reprogramming the vibrations of the cells that have somehow gone askew. They restore the pattern of sounds at the heart of each and every cell, thus pushing the cells toward harmonious health & sharp intellect.

Mantras affect not only our physical body but also our subtle body - our emotions, intellect and soul. They positively affect our aura - the energy shields surrounding our body.

Energy of a Mantra

We hear any word and have an emotional reaction to it. This is because we are conditioned by OUR experiences connected to that word AND the collective emotions that people have towards that word.

As an example, the word "mother" when spoken with deliberation, evokes an emotional energy realignment. Just imagine the power of sounds repeated billions of times, with great collective devotion and over centuries!

These sounds form the heart of Mantras and deeply influence the energy alignment within us.

Mantra Meditation

Repetition of a Mantra is a powerful way of keeping us in the Present and stilling our "monkey mind", which is forever jumping uncontrollably from one thought to another.

The moment we inculcate the practice of being "intensely" present - with neither any 'baggage' of the subconscious past nor the remotest anxiety of the future - we, then, automatically experience great peace, profound silence and supreme joy!
This, in fact, is the process and goal of meditation and using mantras is a very effective way to achieve it!

Using Japa Malas for Meditation

Repetition of a mantra is called Japa and a Japa Mala is a string of beads used to count the repetition of a mantra.

The act of turning the beads while recitation of the mantra is extremely effective in keeping you in the present. Equally important is that it keeps you 'grounded' as you advance in meditation and helps you continually gain from the material properties of the beads.

It also helps us to keep the measure, as while meditating we should not loose our concentration to check how much time have elapsed or how long we need to continue to achieve the target (that we ve set before we start).

As you do Japa, you will invariably encounter wandering thoughts even as you repeat the Mantra mechanically. In such a case, gently refocus without getting agitated. The beauty of a Mantra is that EVEN a mechanical repetition exposes you to the benefits of the sacred sounds.

There are various Mantras and Japa mala beads that you can use to make your meditative journey relatively smooth. But we have to be bit careful while choosing the mantra, as not any & every word can be considered as the sacred sound to be meditated upon. Some people gets misguided & as they wont get the benefit, they start blaming the Mantra Meditation procedure.

In this scientific arena, we rarely believe on the fact, unless its been scientifically proved or has shown practical benefit to a considerable mass. I think no one can deny the power of "ÖM Kara", "Gayatri Mantra"& the ultimate one "Hare Krishna Maha Mantra".

In every age there are certain ways we could achieve excellence through meditation & for this age ( The Age of Kali - Kali Yuga) "Hare Krishna Maha Mantra" is prescribed.
Its based on the references found in many of our ancient scriptures, not on anyone's mental speculations.
Its not only popularly adopted in our country, but also followed by thousands of people from Western Countries & their experience can be refereed to strengthen our faith.
For more reference please visit : http://www.krishna.com/some-scriptural-references-hare-krishna-maha-mantra

In conclusion, Mantras are one of the most effective ways to experience supreme bliss and freedom from the bondage of the uncontrolled mind.

A common myth: Mantra Meditation is meant only for Old age group.

This is the biggest myth, as not only old people want peace & happiness in their life, but everyone wants. Its just a fact that due to our own ignorance we tend to suffer till we seek the Supreme Lord's assistance & generally people do that in their old age, when their FALSE EGO gets shattered.
Lets chant
"  Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare... "   .
& move towards a blissful life.

Procedure for chanting Hare Krishna Maha Mantra:

1. Take any chanting mala with 108 beads with an extra head bead. (preferably Tulsi or Neem mala).

2. At the first bead chant the Panchatatwa Mantra: (One time)
    "Sri Krishna Chaitanya Prabhu Nityananda,
Sri Advaita Gadadhara, Sri Vasadi Gaura bhakta vrinda.".

3. Then chant Hare Krishna Maha Mantra:  (108 times)
" Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare..."   .

My philosophy: Try before you come to any conclusion.

Jai Shree Krishna :-)

May Lord Ganesh bless us with real knowledge in this auspicious occasion

As we pass different phases of life, we ask different type of knowledge & bliss from our beloved Lord Shree Ganesh.
Sometimes school or college academics, while other times to get a good rank in JEE or help in interview to get a good Job...

But very few times we have ever thought of gaining that kind of knowledge which can lift us from any difficult situations in life;

Where can we get such knowledge ???
Who emanates & distributes this priceless knowledge ???
Who wrote(documented) such Gems of Wisdom ???

The answer is very straight forward!!! Its none other than SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE. We can gain this from our vedic scriptures, but unfortunately we dont ve ample amount of time to go though...

That's why Lord Krishna simplified this in the form of Bhagavat Gita (Supreme Instruction to Arjuna), which is documented by Lord Shree Ganesha with the guidance of Vyasa Deva. [Bhagavat Gita is a part of Mahabharata].

So we should seek for real knowledge & pray Lord Ganesha to bless us the same.

Lets discuss a small sample of it; Though there are many awakening lessons present to be uncovered !!!

"While contemplating the objects of the senses, a person develops attachment for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and from lust anger arises. From anger, complete delusion arises, and from delusion bewilderment of memory. When memory is bewildered, intelligence is lost, and when intelligence is lost one falls down again into the material pool."
-- Extracted from Bhagavat Gita Chapter 2, Verse 62 & 63.

So the root cause of all sufferings is termed as ATTACHMENT ==> towards the sense objects!!! & so nicely it is explained how it leads to LUST ==> ANGER ==> DELUSION ==> MEMORY gets bewildered (confused) ==> INTELLIGENCE Lost (So we cant make proper judgement while in anger) ==> Leads to MISERY.

If one tries to gain real knowledge on "how to remain unattached even while living in this material world with full of attractive sense objects" then he or she can remain peaceful, even with the greatest troublesome situations!!!

Spirituality shows us that part of uncovered lesson, where most of us fall prey to the unwanted tragic situations.

"Every ship can sail in the still water, but the real test happens when storm approaches" !!!
Lets Be aware of it & get prepared before it arrives & demolished us...

May Lord Ganesha blesses us with the real knowledge...
Happy Ganesh Puja :-)
Jai Shree Krishna :-)

Towards a flourishing relationship !!!

Most of Our Failures in Human Relations are due to “misunderstandings”.

We expect other people to react and respond and come to the same conclusions as we do from a given set of “facts” or “circumstances.”

No one responds or reacts to “things as they are,” but to his own mental images.  Most of the time, a person “understands” and interprets the situation differently from us. He is merely responding appropriately to what – to him – seems to be the truth about the situation.

Ask yourself:

“How does this appear to him?”
“How does he interpret this situation?”
“How does he feel about it?”.

Put yourself in his / her position & act the same way u would expect to be treated as !!!

When we will start behaving the same way, as we  r expecting from others... We  will land up in a new arena of life; Feel it & let me know if u like the transformation or the present living style!!!

Lord Krishna instructs Arjuna in Bhagavad-gita 12.15
He for whom no one is put into difficulty and who is not disturbed by anyone, who is equipoise in happiness and distress, fear and anxiety, is very dear to Me.

Srila Prabhupada writes in the purport:
“Since a devotee is kind to everyone, he does not act in such a way as to put others into anxiety. At the same time, if others try to put a devotee into anxiety, he is not disturbed. It is by the grace of the Lord that he is so practiced that he is not disturbed by any outward disturbance.”

Try to understand why he might “act the way he does”.
In dealing with other people try to see the situation from their point of view as well as your own.

In rare situations we have to tolerate others mistake to some extent, but in long run (s)he ll understand his or her mistake for sure, iff we have forgiven for their misdeed (without any revenge thoughts or deeds).

Once we get this habit, inculcated in to our day to day dealings, relationship with all will flourish for sure... Life would be ever blissful !!!
